Meet Dave Schatz

Growing up a blue collar kid in rural Missouri, I spent long days working in my family’s construction business, where the values of honesty, integrity and hard work were instilled in me as a young man.

It was then that I became inspired by Ronald Reagan. He spoke to our conservative values, our commonsense beliefs and our way of life. He wasn’t part of the club. He didn’t care about the club. I respected that.

That’s who I am.

My hands are calloused from decades of hard work. I always preferred a toolbox to a briefcase, bluejeans to a suit and a handshake to a contract.

All I’ve wanted from life was to serve my God, provide for my family and spend as much time in a boat, blind, or tree stand as life (and my wife Chara) would allow.

After years of breaking my back and busting my knuckles in construction, I had the opportunity to take charge of my family’s business which had fallen on hard times and was about to collapse.

I couldn’t stand back and watch that happen.

It took a lot of answered prayers, long hours, sleepless nights, and sweat, but, by the grace of God, we saved the business. Today we employ more than 100 hardworking folks, helping them support their families and our community. Many of those same folks were there as we toiled in tough times. They’re family.

While I had to move from the trenches to the office, the wisdom of the men and women on our shop floor still inspires me and informs our business.

After getting our business back on solid footing, I had a good look around at what was happening to our state and our nation. Our way of life was under constant attack from out-of-touch elites with expensive degrees, big egos, and soft hands who wanted to tell us how to live.

So, I made the choice to run for the state legislature. I won.

For four years in the State House and eight years in the State Senate, I’ve put my nose down to deliver for Missouri families and create the most pro-jobs, pro-growth and pro-freedom state in the country.

It hasn’t always been easy, and I’ve ruffled more than a few feathers in my time.

But it was worth it. By sticking to my beliefs and our conservative principles, I helped balance our budget, secure record funding for our schools and roads, and pass the largest income tax cut in Missouri’s history.

I didn’t do any of that alone.

We’ve built a great team of people from across the state who care more about delivering results for Missouri families than being a Twitter hog or a cable news star.

Of course, as soon as we got our state stronger, safer, and freer than ever, our nation fell off a cliff.

So, here I am again, making another decision to throw my hat in for a run for the U.S. Senate.

It is time to elect a conservative who is more interested in delivering results for your family than serving their own ambition.

It’s time we brought the Missouri Way to Washington DC, instead of electing politicians who want to bring the Washington way back home.

I’ll do whatever it takes to keep our country the Shining City On A Hill that Ronald Reagan told us it could be.
